Rule No. 2.A  GENERAL RATE APPLICABILITY
                 
1.  The rates named herein are applicable subject to the
special rules and conditions of this tariff and to the
conditions of the Carrier's Shipping Receipts and Bills of
Lading. Except as otherwise provided in individual rate
items, rates are stated in Dollars per 100 pounds gross
weight (W) or per cubic foot (M), and charges will be
computed by gross weight or measurement, whichever will
yield the greater revenue. All charges are payable in
legal tender of the United States of America.
                 
                 
Rule No. 3.  RATE APPLICABILITY RULE

The Tariff rates, rules and charges applicable to a given shipment
are those published and in effect on the actual vessel sailing date 
the cargo is transported by the Carrier. 
                 
                 
Rule No. 6. MINIMUM BILL OF LADING CHARGES
                 
1. The minimum charge for any single shipment, with the exception
of 1760-00-0002,   whether composed of one of more article will be $75.00.  
The minimum charge for any single shipment of Home Packs, 
Viz.: Fish, N.O.S., item no. 1760-00-0002 will be $100.00.
A single shipment shall mean one (1) Bill of Lading, from one 
(1) Consignor to one (1) Consignee at one (1)destination. At the 
shippers request, two or more Bills of Lading may be combined for 
the purposes of establishing one minimum charge.
                 
                 
Rule No. 10.A BUNKER SURCHARGE
                 
Except as noted in tariff line items, all cargo moving
under tariff rates shall be subject to a fuel surcharge
of BUNKER SURCHARGE RATE
of the applicable freight charges. Computed
charges for the fuel surcharge will be rounded up to the
nearest $0.01.
                 
                 
Rule No. 10.D PORT SECURITY CHARGE
                 
Except as noted in tariff line items, all cargo moving under tariff
rates shall be subject to a Port Security Charge. A Port Security
Charge of $17.00 will be applied to any single shipment, whether
composed of one or more articles, A single shipment shall mean one
(1) Bill of Lading, from one (1) Consignor to one (1) Consignee at
one (1) destination. At the shippers request, two or more Bills of
Lading may be combined for the purposes of establishing one Port
Security Charge.
                 
                 
Rule No. 23.A TERMINAL CHARGES
                 
Rates named herein include Wharfage and Handling ONLY at
Carrier's terminal in Seattle, WA as specified in
Paragraph B, Scope of Service.

Cargo destined to ports named in Scope of Service, other
than named above, and consigned to a person(s) or company
not maintaining their own docking facilities in said
ports, will be subject to a Wharfage and Handling Charge.
